The Best Way to Declutter & Organize Your Bathroom – Step-by-Step Guide
How to use the SPACE method to declutter and organize your bathroom
Learn how to declutter and organize your bathroom. We follow the SPACE acronym:
S = sort
P = purge
A = assign remaining contents a home and…
C = contain
E = execute, enjoy, and evaluate
Sort
Pull everything out and sort items into broad categories. Hair products together; oral health together; face lotions and serums together.
Purge
Declutter what you no longer need or use. Get rid of expired cosmetics.
Assign the Remaining Contents a Home
Once you are left with what you’re going to keep, we need to figure out the best home for each grouping of items. We love to create a “daily-use drawer” where we keep things you’d use every day — like your toothbrush, floss, hair ties, deodorant, etc.
Things you use less frequently should be in lower drawers or harder to reach areas. This would include cosmetics you’re not usually daily, nail polish, cologne, and heat styling tools.
Contain
This is the fun part! Once you’ve decided where the item will live, you can figure out what type of container it needs – if at all. Check out our Instagram highlights for some of our favorite products.
Enjoy & Evaluate
Now it’s time to enjoy your hard work. After living with your newly organized space for a few months, be sure to evaluate that the system is still working for you.
